Sheraton and Marriott add to Asia's resort portfolio

Two leading hotel companies this week added to the already staggering range of leisure properties in Asia for holiday makers to choose from.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts opened the 1,000th member of its international portfolio, Sheraton Qiandao Lake Resort. Marriott presided over the debut of Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa, off Mai Khao beach near the Sirinath Marine Park.

About 140km from downtown Hangzhou, the 250-room Sheraton Qiandao Lake Resort is in the midst of a destination popular for mountain climbing, cycling and other outdoor activities.

Among Sheraton Qiandao's key features is the brand’s latest signature hotel offering, The Link@SheratonSM experienced with Microsoft®, a lobby lounge that enables guests to stay connected. The new Sheraton Fitness, programmed by Core Performance is also being introduced. Designed by experts who train professional athtletes, it helps travellers keep healthy while on the road. The first Shine Spa by Sheraton in Greater China will also make its debut later in August.

Marriott’s third Renaissance in Thailand, Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa features 180 rooms of which 150 are Deluxe Rooms, four are One-Bedroom suites, 25 are One-Bedroom Villas with private pools and one Oceanfront Three-Bedroom Villa. It offers five restaurants: Lom Talay for Thai; the Sand Box which is a bar-cum-grill; Loca Vore for cook to order; The Lounge for all day dining and networking; and Doppio, an espresso-tea leaf bar.

Quan spa offers bath therapies, body massages and various body treatments, using local ingredients. Besides various areas throughout the resort, six meeting rooms, seating 160 people and high-tech audio-visual equipment assure planners of effective and enjoyable events.
