Luxury hotel brand Ritz-Carlton has opened a 123-room property in downtown Los Angeles, part of the $2.5bn LA Live development.
The hotel is situated in the upper floors of a 54-storey tower which also comprises sister property the JW Marriott Los Angeles at LA Live (Ritz-Carlton being a subsidiary of Marriott International). Facilities include 14 suites, with the 278sqm Ritz-Carlton Suite featuring a piano/entertainment room, media corner, lounge, kitchen and dining area.
There is a 743sqm spa with nine treatment rooms, two aromatherapy steam rooms, cold plunge showers and two relaxation lounges, while for events there is 10,000sqm of meeting space. Wolfgang Puck heads up Asian restaurant WP24 on the 24th floor of the hotel, while one floor below there is a 315sqm Club Lounge, and the 26th floor features a rooftop pool, fitness centre and bar.
LA Live is a sports, residential and entertainment district in downtown Los Angeles, which includes 13 bars and restaurants, entertainment venues such as Club Nokia, and the 20,000-capacity Staples Centre.
