Best Western International will introduce its upscale Best Western Premier brand in the Philippines, locating the flagship property at Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Metro Manila. Global City, rising from what was once a sprawling military camp, is the city's newest business precinct.
Best Western Premier F1 City Center Hotel will have 240 rooms and amenities such as a fully equipped gym, infinity lap pool, spa and sauna, an outdoor entertainment area, jogging trail and meditation garden, as well as a range of F&B outlets. Opening date is slated for January 2011.
"The Fort", as the hotel's area is better known, has attracted a number of multinational firms, including Hongkong Bank, Deutsch Bank, Fujitsu and Ericsson. The Stock Exchange is also expected to relocate there. Other developments in the area includes the new St Luke's Medical Center, a coliseum and a convention centre. The Shangri-La hotel chain intends to establish its third Manila property at The Fort.
The US-based Best Western currently has two properties in the Philippines: Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila in Ermita, Manila and Best Western Boracay Tropics Resorts in Boracay, Aklan in central Philppines.
To date, the chain runs 81 hotels and resorts across Asia, including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam among others. Within the year, it plans to open new properties in Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka in Japan, Dalat and Lao Cai in Vietnam, Pangkor in Malaysia, Bali in Indonesia, Bangkok in Thailand and Singapore.
