Ryanair to launch Newcastle-Oslo route

Low-cost carrier Ryanair is to commence a thrice-weekly route from Newcastle to Oslo-Rygge airport in May.

The new flights start on May 19, and add to the carrier’s existing routes from Newcastle to Dublin and Girona. Oslo-Rygge airport is located around 37 miles from the city, compared to the Norwegian capital's principal Oslo airport which is located around 22 miles away.

Ryanair also serves London Stansted and Dublin from Oslo-Rygge, and in addition flies to several UK cities from Sandefjord Airport, often referred to as Oslo-Torp although it is located some 70 miles from the city.

Fares for the Newcastle to Oslo-Rygge route start from £23.99 one-way.
