"Heathrow's first hotel" to reopen

21 Feb 2010 by BusinessTraveller

The Stanwell, a boutique property billing itself as Heathrow’s first hotel and located two miles from T5, is to reopen in April with nearly triple the number of rooms following a multi-million pound refurbishment.

The Stanwell originally opened in 1951, and is located in an acre of grounds overlooking a village green and 13th century church. The refurbishment programme has taken the property’s portfolio from 19 to 54 rooms, with a choice of Victorian Rooms in the main house, Stable Rooms with their own patios, and Garden Rooms, with either balconies or glass doors leading onto the garden.

Other features include a meeting room divisible in two and with a capacity for up to 60 delegates, and Zamora’s Restaurant with floor-to-ceiling French windows opening out onto a private patio.

The hotel is located in the village of Stanwell to the South of Heathrow airport, and is now part of the Inn-genious Hotel Group.
