Luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental is to manage a property on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island, with a scheduled opening date of 2013.
The project is being developed by the Tourism Development and Investment Company, and will feature 160 rooms and suites, 50 residences, a spa, six restaurants and bars, meeting space, a private beach club, fitness centre and outdoor pool. Guests will also get “preferred access” to the Gary Player-designed Saadiyat Beach Golf Course.
It will be the first hotel under the Mandarin Oriental brand in the Middle East, and will join other brands including Rotana, St Regis and Park Hyatt on Saadiyat Island, as well as residential projects, a business hub and cultural attractions including Abu Dhabi versions of the Guggenheim and Louvre museums.
