4 Feb 2010

Eithad Airways chief executive officer James Hogan said that the importance of Japan as a key business partner with the United Arab Emirates was one of the key reasons for the new routes. “We believe the connection between Abu Dhabi and Nagoya will offer opportunities to grow tourism, as well as foster commercial growth and benefit key industries – particularly energy, environmental services and manufacturing, for which Nagoya is becoming a centre of excellence.” Etihad will operate an Airbus A330 on the routes with 240 seats in Coral Economy Class and 22 seats in Pearl Business Class. The Nagoya-Abu Dhabi flights leave Japan at 2115 and arrive in Abu Dhabi the following day at 0640. The return flight leaves Abu Dhabi 2200 and arrives in Nagoya 1540 the following day. The direct Tokyo-Abu Dhabi leaves Narita International Airport at 2205 and lands in the emirate at 1325 the following day. The Abu Dhabi flight leaves at 2140 and lands in Narita at 0350 the following day. Etihad will also offer codeshare services with Japanese airline ANA from March 1, offering connections for Etihad passengers from Nagoya to Chitose and Fukuoka and through Tokyo’s Narita Airport to Osaka, and for ANA passengers, connections to Etihad’s network via Abu Dhabi.
