Radisson Blu announces Milan property

14 Dec 2009 by Mark Caswell

The Chedi Milan is to be rebranded under Rezidor's Radisson Blu offering next year, marking the second property for the brand in Italy.

The 250-room hotel originally opened in 2007, but will now be rebranded as the Radisson Blu Hotel, Milan in early 2010. The property is located north of the city centre, close to Milan's two trade fairs. Rooms average 37sqm, and feature an "Asia meets Italy" style. Facilties include a restaurant and bar, 800sqm of meeting space, a spa, and an indoor swimming pool.

The Chedi Milan had been managed by GHM (which also manages Chedi properties in Oman, Bali, and Thailand) until earlier this year, before briefly changing its name to the Virtus Milan. An ex-member of the Design Hotels group, the property is currently closed.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Milan, will be the second property for the brand in Italy, joining the 232-room Radisson Blu Es Hotel in Rome.
