Hainan Airlines intends to operate a five times weekly, non-stop Shanghai-Brussels service from March 2010, said officials of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The following month, April, it will also launch a daily non-stop Shanghai-Vienna service.
Both routes will utilise an Airbus A330.
No carriers currently fly non-stop from the Chinese city to Brussels or Vienna, although Hainan Airlines has a thrice-weekly, non-stop A330 service between Beijing and Brussels.
