Crowne Plaza arrives in Hongkong via Causeway Bay

10 Nov 2009

Newly opened Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Causeway Bay seeks to set the tone for premium hotel services in a bid to carve a niche in the city's crowded hotel market.

The 263-room property is the first Crowne Plaza of IHG (InterContinental Hotel Group) in the territory, which already boasts several of its brands: InterContinental Hong Kong, InterContinental Grand Stamford, Holiday Inn Golden Mile and Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong.

Built on a prime lot along Leighton Road, it stands near the MTR train station, commercial offices, shopping malls and restaurants, with the iconic Happy Valley Racecourse just around the corner. "We strive to deliver quality services at international premium standards," said director of sales and marketing Joanna Kan. "We want to ensure that every stay gives guests a home away from home experience."

Suite - Bedroom

The property's 263 guestrooms and suites, ranging from 34sqm to 84sqm, are said to be the largest in the area. In-room facilities include a spacious shower cubicle and marble bathtub; entertainment system with 5.1 surround sound DVD, 42-inch full HD definition with a choice of local and international channels, plus in-house movies; and an iPod/iPhone docking entertainment system.

For working guests, a large desk equipped with both wireless broadband internet is fitted in each room. A useful amenity is the Citywide In-Room Mobile Phone, which guests can use anywhere in or out of the hotel. The 3G handset enables voicemail retrieval and is set to provide newsfeeds.

Meeting Room on the 2nd floor

Companies looking for a new venue in Causeway Bay can add Crowne Plaza's seven multipurpose function rooms located on the second floor to their list.

"As 'The Place to Meet', we have high flexibility in customising any type of meeting from six people to a group of 100," said Kan. "Our dedicated Crowne Meetings Manager will take care of your meeting arrangements and is committed to reply to any enquiry within two hours."
