Qantas’ new Business Lounge at Hongkong International Airport (HKIA) offers improved comfort levels and seating layout that provides a greater sense of personal space. It replaces the old lounge, which opened in 1998 along with HKIA’s start up.
Now located on Departure Level 6, between gates 15 and 16 on the North Concourse, the facility welcomes all Business, Chairman’s Lounge, Platinum Frequent Flyers,
Gold Frequent Flyers, Qantas Club members and all eligible oneworld
passengers travelling on a oneworld marketed or operated flight. It boasts contemporary furnishings blending wood, leather and fabrics with a chocolate brown carpet.
Productivity in transit is answered with 14 individual workstations, each equipped with a PC, complimentary wireless access and power and data points spread throughout the area, while 11 bathrooms and shower suites with Molton Brown amenities help renew the bedraggled passenger. The food and beverage menu has been expanded to feature a greater meal selection.
Operating hours are from 5.15am to Qantas' last flight at midnight.
The carrier’s Hongkong enhancement follows similar upgrades in Sydney Melbourne, Auckland, Perth, Narita, Los Angeles and Honolulu.
Qantas’ First Lounge at HKIA, meanwhile, has been shut down for refurbishment with a scheduled reopening on the same site sometime in December. During this hiatus, First Class, Platinum Frequent Flyers will be directed to the Business Class Lounge.
