Emirates opens Manchester lounge

22 Oct 2009 by Mark Caswell

Emirates has officially unveiled its lounge at Manchester airport’s Terminal 1, with facilities including showers and free wifi internet access.

The Dubai-based carrier moved into the airport’s Terminal 1 earlier this year, and the £1.5m lounge opened to passengers at the start of this month, before being offically unveiled today (October 22) by Mohammed Mattar, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president airport services.

Facilities include floor-to-ceilings windows with views of the runways, hot and cold food and beverages, a full bar service, showers, a business centre, free wired and wifi internet access, and seating for 147 passengers.

Emirates is also due to open a lounge at Birmingham International airport next year (see online news September 9).
