Thai AirAsia is planning to open several new routes from its secondary hub in Phuket as it prepares for the launch of its Hongkong and Jakarta services.
Flights from Hongkong and Jakarta will start from November 15 but already the airline’s chief executive Tassapon Bijleveld has signalled that the airline is also looking at Phuket services to Bali, Surabaya, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Manila.
By the end of the year, the airline will also add flights from Phuket to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, Medan in Indonesia and Vietnam’s business centre Ho Chi Minh City.
