SilkAir will operate three daily flights between Singapore and Penang from December 1, when the carrier takes over the daily morning service between the two destinations from sister company Singapore Airlines (SIA).
In a press statement, the SIA Group said having SilkAir on the Singapore-Penang route "optimises the use of resources and presents a better match of capacity to demand". The airline started flying the route in June this year and now runs an afternoon and an evening flight to and from Penang daily.
SIA customers, who have made advance bookings on the airline's Singapore-Penang service, will be re-accommodated on the SilkAir flights.
