Asia Miles offers online shopping boost through October

Members of Asia Miles rewards programme can earn double points when buying from merchants through its online iShop between October 1 and 31, 2009.

The site has only been online since May, but has reported strong response from buyers and retail partners, said Paul Loo, general manager Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes (CPLP).

There are now well over 1,000 merchants, according to CPLP, mainly in the UK, USA, Australia, Japan and China, and it is in negotiation for more in Hongkong, Singapore, Taiwan and Korea to join before the end of the year. Current partners include Apple, bookseller Barnes and Noble, Boots, cosmetics supplier Avon as well as fashion, sports and other suppliers.

Asia Miles has around 3.4 million members worldwide and members can earn and redeem points with around 400 partners in a total of nine categories, including airlines, hotels, finance providers, retailers and telecom firms.

“iShop has been running successfully for two months and we will progressively add more merchants in more countries for the benefit of shoppers.”  

There are around 400 Asia Miles partners worldwide, including 20 airlines, including Air China, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Eastern Airlines, Dragonair, Japan Airlines, Jet Airways, Qantas Airways, Royal Brunei and Vietnam Airlines.
