Budget hotel group Travelodge has joined the growing list of brands using Twitter to communicate with its customers, and is celebrating by offering a £10 discount to followers.
To qualify for the offer Twitter users simply need to follow Travelodge’s account at twitter.com/TravelodgeUK, where there are details of how to claim the discount. The £10 voucher is valid for stays across Britain between November 29, 2009 and January 17, 2010, for bookings made before September 30, 2009.
Commenting on the offer, Travelodge’s e-commerce director Charlie Herbert said:
“Over 85 per cent of Travelodge reservations are conducted via the web and with such a strong online following, it makes sense to interact with our customers via Twitter. This will enable us to instantly tell our followers of latest offers, inform them on new Travelodge openings and keep them updated on general company news. It’s an instant, efficient and modern way of interacting with our customers”.
Brands including Starwood, Accor, Marriott and Four Seasons all have official twitter accounts, as do marketing groups including Design Hotels. You can also follow businesstraveller.com at twitter.com/btuk.
