Singapore has launched City Advantage, a new value-added promotion, providing international visitors at business events with extra privileges and discounts on a range of services.
Holders of Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) City Advantage tag can show the pocket-sized brochure at participating outlets to qualify for the special deals, which showcase the city’s dining, nightlife and retail options.
“Singapore is already the preferred business destination globally. Through the City Advantage programme, we aim to showcase Singapore as a vibrant and cosmopolitan destination that offers memorable experiences for business visitors. Singapore delivers on this value proposition with the ‘2009 Reasons to meet in Singapore’ campaign, with business visitors gaining the added advantage of being able to experience the diverse leisure offerings in Singapore,” said Melissa Ow, assistant chief executive, Business Travel and MICE Group, STB.
The “2009 Reasons to meet in Singapore” campaign is a year-long promotion, offering packages and promotions, ranging from dining to retail, and attractions to healthcare and wellness, to those visiting the city for meetings, incentive programmes or exhibitions and trade shows.
Under the programme, more than 20 hotels offer privileges such as free unlimited internet, complimentary breakfast, accommodation extension and other meetings-related benefits. The STB also wants to encourage delegates to “Bring Along a Partner”, a promotion that features special deals for accompanying partners, such as dining and spa treatments.
Alongside details of the participating merchants, the City Advantage tag includes useful contact numbers for taxis, GST refund and tourist information.
The City Advantage brochure will be distributed through hotels and to delegates upon registration at designated business events. The campaign will run until March 2010.
