A mysterious line has appeared on Easyjet’s online route map, which appears to suggest the carrier will be starting flights from Basel across the Atlantic.
An eagle-eyed reader posted the “news” on our forum this afternoon, and a quick look at easyjet.com does show a blue line (designating routes that are for sale but not yet operating) emanating from its Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg base out over the Atlantic.
However Easyjet’s booking engine does not list any such flights from Basel, and it would certainly be big news were the carrier to spread its wings into the long-haul market.
Businesstraveller.com will be contacting Easyjet to try and get get to the bottom of the thin blue line.
