Business travellers won't stand for it

11 Jul 2009 by Mark Caswell

Over 90 per cent of visitors to businesstraveller.com said they would not be prepared to stand during a flight, according to our recent survey.

Ryanair's outspoken CEO Michael O'Leary recently said the airline was in talks with Boeing about designing an aircraft with standing room only (see online news July 6). The carrier is currently carrying out a survey on its website to find out the views of its customers on this subject, but we thought we'd survey readers of businesstraveller.com to see what you had to say.

An overwhelming 91.5 per cent of respondents said they would not buy tickets for such a service, with just 8.5 per cent saying they would be prepared to stand during a flight.

A total of 235 visitors to businesstraveller.com responded to the question “Would you be prepared to stand during a flight?”, with 8.5 per cent responding “Yes” and 91.5 per cent responding “No”. To take part in our latest survey, click here.
