Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has announced that it will cease its thrice-weekly Kuala Lumpur-Stockholm-New York services starting September 30.
Its last flight out of Kuala Lumpur on this route will depart on September 30. The final flights from New York and Stockholm will leave on October 1 and 2 respectively.
“The suspension is part of our continuous review to ensure that we retain the correct balance in network and fleet utilisation given supply and demand,” said Rashid Khan, commercial director, Malaysia Airlines.
The airline’s offices in New York and Stockholm will still remain, with services to New York offered by partner airlines and to Stockholm via Amsterdam by codeshare partner KLM.
Meanwhile, MAS will continue to offer its thrice-weekly service from Kuala Lumpur to Los Angeles via Taipei.
