Bmi has expanded its complimentary chauffeur service to include Dublin and UK regional airports.
The service was originally launched on London Heathrow routes in February (see online news February 9), and is now available to customers travelling on selected business class fares from Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Manchester, to Almaty, Amman, Azerbaijan, Beirut, Cairo, Damascus, Kyrgyzstan, Moscow, Saudi Arabia, Tel Aviv and Yerevan, as well as Tehran and Tbilisi (from the UK only).
The chauffeur drive service is available at both ends of the routes, with up to four transfers allowed per return flight. In the UK silver E-Class Mercedes Benz vehicles are used for the service, with “equivalent vehicles” used at the destination.
At Heathrow T1 Bmi now has specially branded parking bays for the chauffeur service, from where passengers are met on arrival by a concierge and taken to the carrier’s revamped check-in zone.
BA recently launched a trial of its own complimentary taxi service (see online news May 15), while Emirates has extended its chauffeur option at Newcastle airport to include Edinburgh-based passengers (see online news June 25).
