From July 1, Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) and Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will codeshare on two flights from Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei.
MAS will codeshare on RBA’s flights from Bandar Seri Begawan to Kota Kinabalu as well as flights from the Brunei capital to Kuching. Air services for these two routes operate twice daily and twice weekly respectively.
The updated agreement between the two carriers expands a five-year old codeshare partnership, which has been in place since 2004, in the Bandar Seri Begawan-Kuala Lumpur route.
“Once we codeshare on Sabah and Sarawak, we will be able to effectively make the travel to Borneo seamless for passengers,” said Wong Peng Hoon, senior vice-president of commercial, sales and marketing at RBA. “They will also be able to take advantage of the increased number of flights into the region and access both airlines’ booking engines.”
