Qantas to increase A380 services to London

15 Jun 2009 by Mark Caswell

Qantas will serve the UK with daily A380 flights by this November, as the Australian carrier takes delivery of three more superjumbos this year.

The airline currently has three A380 aircraft in service, and had been due to receive a fourth in May (see online news February 16). However this will now happen at the end of July, with the London-Singapore-Sydney route seeing its A380 flights increase from three to five per week from August 6. The new delivery will also allow Qantas to increase A380 flights on its Sydney-Los Angeles route from three to four times per week from August.

The carrier is then due to receive two further superjumbos this year, allowing it to move to a daily A380 service on both the London and LA routes by November, as well as increasing A380 services on its Melbourne-LA route from two to three flights per week.
