29 May 2009

Hainan Airlines has launched twice-daily scheduled Bejing-Dubai flights. Previously, the Chinese carrier linked both cities with charter services.

“(The) Middle East being the economic centre has a huge number of Chinese nationals, with Dubai being home to over 120,000 Chinese nationals,” said Charlotte D’Mello, marketing executive of Sharaf Travel, Hainan Airlines’ GSA in the UAE and Gulf region. “And China being a player in the global economy attracts a huge numbers of business travelers from all round the world, including the Middle East.”

Hainan Airlines, currently operates about 500 domestic and international flights from its main hub in Hainan and nine other Mainland cities. Points on its international network include Seattle, Moscow, Brussels, Berlin and Budapest. Parent company HNA is partly owned by the Hainan provincial government and industrialist George Soros.
