Taiwan to get its first Crowne Plaza hotel

21 May 2009

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will manage the Crowne Plaza Kaohsiung E-Da World, offering 650 rooms. It is slated to open this year-end in the touristy Guang-Yin Mountain in Kaohsiung City.

This latest addition to IHG’s portfolio, a collaboration with E United Group, one of Taiwan’s largest steel conglomerates, will be the first managed Crowne Plaza hotel in Taiwan, making IHG its “largest international hotel group” with over 1,200 rooms in total.

Catering to corporate needs, the new Crowne Plaza will provide full-service facilities including five restaurants, two ballrooms and 10 functions. A host of other facilities can also be expected as it is part of E-Da World, a mixed-use development project comprising hotels, shopping malls, a theme park, a university and real estates.
