Passengers can enjoy greater convenience when they transit between flights by Qantas and Jetstar Asia, as both airlines collaborate for an interline ticketing and settlement relationship agreement.
The agreement allows them to book long-haul flights such as London-Singapore-Penang using both Qantas and Jetstar services, with Singapore as a transit point.
Qantas passengers will no longer need to collect their luggage and then check them in again for connecting Jetstar flights, and vice versa. This means bags can be checked through to their final destination.
The agreement also makes Jetstar’s interline ticketing available on global distribution systems.
This improved service is already available for booking of tickets to four of Jetstar’s destinations – Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Penang. Travel under the agreement is effective from August 1.
There are also plans to progressively extend this agreement to include the rest of Jetstar’s Asian network and the future could see Jetstar signing similar agreements with leading Asian and European carriers.
