Philippine Airlines (PAL) has launched a new mobile information service that feeds into any WAP-enabled mobile phone.
It offers passengers the lowdown on flight status, travel advisories, promotions, flight fares and schedules, excess baggage rates and various other products and services as well as the number of mileage points required to redeem award tickets, all of which appears on the PAL website, www.philippineairlines.com
Users must go to www.philippineairlines.mobi on their WAP-enabled mobile phones’ web browsers to access the service.
The innovation, however, does not allow the booking or reservation of flights, which still has to be done on the PAL website, reservations hotline or at a ticket office.
PAL claims to have scored ahead of its rivals by pioneering this travel aid. It said it would add more interactive features in the future.
