Metropark Hotel Wanchai is back in business

15 May 2009

Metropark Hotel Wanchai, which was put into quarantine when a Mexican guest was declared Hongkong's first confirmed (A)H1N1 virus case, re-opens today, raring to do business.

To mark the event, a “Stay Three, Pay Two” promotion is offered until June 30. For HK$620 (US$80) nightly, travellers can stay for two nights and get the third night on a complimentary basis.

In Mexico, where this latest global infection first broke out, 5,000 hotels, along the Caribbean coast, are participating in a “flu-free guarantee” initiative. Visitors, who contracted the A(H1N1) virus during their stay at any hotel in that area, will be able to redeem free vacations for three years (one per year), provided they can show proof that they contracted the disease at the property.
