Air India Express adds Abu Dhabi routes

5 May 2009

Air India Express has launched two new routes to Abu Dhabi International Airport and increased its frequency between the emirate and Cochin from five to six flights per week.

A low-cost airline subsidiary of Air India, Air India Express will fly from Tiruchirapally and Chennai in southern India. The new routes will be serviced by a Boeing B737-800 in an all Economy-Class configuration.

The Oxford Business Group estimated that more than one million Indian nationals live and work in the UAE. In March alone, traffic to and from India increased by 32 percent, making it the largest single travel market for Abu Dhabi.
