Heathrow unveils Power Poles

16 Apr 2009 by Mark Caswell

Business travellers using Heathrow airport can now charge their electronic devices for free, using one of 47 Power Poles.

The hubs have been launched at Terminals 1 and 3, and will soon be available at Terminal 4. BAA says that the Power Poles have been developed following “common customer requests”.

The airport operator has invested £300,000 in the research, production and installation of the Power Poles, which allow up to eight devices to be charged simultaneously. The hubs also house a glass display unit to showcase sponsor Samsung’s latest electronic devices.
