Air Southwest to launch Plymouth-LCY route

8 Apr 2009 by Mark Caswell

Plymouth-based carrier Air Southwest will commence flights to London City from April 20, with timings that should suit business travellers heading for meetings in the city or Canary Wharf.

The airline will fly twice-daily between Plymouth and LCY, with the morning flight departing Plymouth at 0805, arriving into LCY at 0915. The London airport’s connections onto the Docklands Light Railway should then enable travellers to reach central London or Canary Wharf in time for a 10am meeting. The evening return flight departs LCY at 1905, arriving back into Plymouth at 2015.

Going in the other direction, the morning flight from LCY to Plymouth leaves at 0940, arriving at 1050, with the evening return leg departing at 1725 and landing at LCY at 1835.

The flights will also be of interest to those travellers looking to connect onto London City’s short-haul European network, as Plymouth airport has limited direct services to destinations outside the UK.

Air Southwest already flies four-times daily to London Gatwick from Plymouth. For more information visit airsouthwest.com.
