Marriott Rewards offers lounge access

7 Apr 2009 by Sara Turner

Members of the Marriott Rewards hotel loyalty scheme can now redeem points against access to airport lounges, in a new partnership with Priority Pass.

Marriott Rewards members can use their points to earn an annual membership with Priority Pass, a scheme that provides travellers with access to airport lounges, regardless of airline or class of travel. The scheme has recently expanded to offer more than 600 lounges worldwide (see online news March 5).

For 55,000 points Marriott Rewards members can earn a Standard Plus annual membership with Priority Pass, which includes 10 free visits per year to any of the lounges. Further visits during the year are charged at $27 per visit.

Standard Membership is 20,000 points, plus $27 for each visit made. Prestige Membership is 85,000 points, which allows members to make unlimited visits to all the lounges in the programme.

A discounted joining rate is also available, for those Marriott Rewards members who choose not to redeem points in exchange for a Priority Pass membership. Marriott Rewards members will also benefit from an additional three months for free, on any annual Priority Pass membership.

Marriott Rewards points can be earned and redeemed at Marriott International hotels around the world.
