Fraser Residence opens in Shanghai

2 Apr 2009

Frasers Hospitality marked 11 years of operation with the opening of Fraser Residence, its second property in Shanghai after Fraser Suites in Pudong. It is located in the Luwan District, off Huaihai Road.

The 30-storey serviced residence tower is part of an integrated mixed-used development, which also comprises a 16-storey office tower and a five-storey retail podium that links the two towers.

“We are seeing a lot of corporate companies move from permanent housing to more flexible leases,” said Choe Peng Sum, chief executive officer, Frasers Hospitality.

“The company’s vision is meeting unique needs of the individual (who is) away from home, and it boils down to service and word of mouth.”

The newly refurbished extended-stay product offers 272 units with one, two and three bedrooms ranging from 59sqm to 242sqm, without compromising on space. “You want to be free at home enjoying the facilities rather than be in a cold marbled lobby,” said Choe.

It also boasts a restaurant and café, indoor pool, billiards room, an outdoor tennis court and a podium roof garden, as well as a business centre and meeting room that “entices you to brainstorm more than to hold a serious meeting”, he added.

Available until June 30, opening specials start from CNY880 (US$113) nightly in a One-Bedroom Deluxe, up to CNY1,980 (US$255) per night in a Three-Bedroom Penthouse.

Fraser Residence Shanghai is the seventh of the Singapore-based Frasers Hospitality’s 13 properties to open in China by 2010. Pipeline projects will emerge in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Suzhou.
