Ascott Group marks 25th year with big giveaways

2 Apr 2009

Ascott is marking 25 years of creating a home away from home for business travellers with the unprecedented offer of free three nights’ stay every year for 25 consecutive years, as well as monthly rewards of free stays and 25 percent off rates in over 25 cities each month. These series of promotions are valid throughout the year.

The grand prize, worth S$100,000 (US$65,000), will benefit one lucky individual who can use the prize at any of Ascott’s serviced residences worldwide.

Customers who have stayed at Ascott’s participating properties between January and December of this year are eligible for the draw, which takes place January 2010.

From April to December, one guest will be picked each month to enjoy a three nights’ stay on the house.

Ascott is also offering 25 percent off its Best Available Rates to customers who make daily bookings of up to seven nights. They can choose from a revolving list of participating properties from over 25 cities throughout the globe.

Extended-stay guests, who make bookings for one month or more, will receive a complimentary night for each month of stay, up to seven free nights. Redemption is available at any Ascott property worldwide.

Ascott led the way for the serviced residence product with its first international-class property, The Ascott Singapore, on Scotts Road in Singapore in 1984. Over 25 years, Ascott has, through its three brands Ascott, Somerset and Citadines, grown to be the world’s largest owner-operator in the business. It currently has 25,000 units in 66 cities in over 22 countries. Chong Kee Hiong, CEO of Ascott Real Estate, the real estate arm of The Ascott Group Limited, said: “Over the 25 years, Ascott has set industry benchmark with the launch of several firsts. Besides pioneering the serviced residence concept, Ascott launched the world’s first pan-Asian serviced residence real estate investment trust,
Ascott Residence Trust, in 2006.

"We are the largest international serviced residence operator in most countries where we operate, including China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and France. We will continue to expand our presence to more cities to further strengthen Ascott’s leadership position.”

Ascott has 189 properties in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Gulf region. Citadines, an established hospitality brand in Europe, which Ascott acquired in 2004, started operations in France in 1984.
