London City Airport travel update for April 2

26 Mar 2009 by Mark Caswell

Passengers travelling to or from London City Airport on April 2, are advised to use the Docklands Light Railway or allow extra time for journeys by car, due to the G20 London Summitt taking place at nearby Excel.

The airport is planning for normal operations on the day, but says that increased security measures on the local roads surrounding Excel will lead to traffic congestion on the roads approaching the airport. LCY advises passengers to “allow more time for your journey and to check traffic conditions prior to commencing your journey”.

The airport adds that the “best and most convenient route to London City airport” is on the Docklands Light Railway, with direct services to and from Bank, Tower Gateway and Woolwich.
