24 Mar 2009 by Mark Caswell

Rezidor’s mid-market Park Inn brand has unveiled its first properties in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.

The 175-room Park Inn Muscat is located in Oman’s capital, on the main highway linking Muscat International airport and the city’s central business district of Ruwi. Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, steam, sauna and massage areas, and four meeting rooms.

Meanwhile the 148-room Park Inn Al Khobar is located in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia on the Persian Gulf, and features a restaurant, lobby lounge, patio cafe, three meeting rooms and a 340-sqm multi-purpose hall. A fitness centre and further cafe are also under development.

Saudi Arabia is also due to welcome the Park Inn Riyadh, Olaya in 2010, a 259-room property with 11 meeting rooms and a 455-sqm atrium. For a look at hotel developments in Saudi Arabia, read King of the Desert in the December 2008 / January 2009 edition of Business Traveller.
