SIA now flies to Kuwait

16 Mar 2009

Kuwait becomes Singapore Airlines’s (SIA) fifth Middle East destination with its new four-times weekly services starting today.

Using a Boeing B777-200 aircraft, flights will depart Singapore on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 1.05pm, arriving in Kuwait at 6.30pm local time.

For the return leg, the flight will leave Kuwait at 9.20pm to arrive in Singapore at 12.30pm the next day. Both sectors will operate via Abu Dhabi.

The emirate, known for its museums, fine beaches and marinas, and modern shopping complexes, is an active trading partner of Singapore. Commenting on the route start up, Huang Cheng Eng, SIA executive vice-president marketing and the regions, said the service “emphasises the value and importance of tourism, trade and business links between Kuwait and Singapore and strengthening of these relationships over time”.

SIA also flies to Jeddha and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE.
