Shangri-La to open Traders Hotel in Abu Dhabi

15 Mar 2009 by Mark Caswell

Shangri-La will open its second property in Abu Dhabi later this year, under its four-star deluxe Traders brand.

Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi is due to open in the third quarter of 2009, and will be located within the Qaryat Al Beri complex, which also houses the existing Shangri-La hotel (click here for a review). The development is situated opposite the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque, in an area called “Between the Bridges” – literally, the area between the bridges of Mussafah, which carries Airport Road out to Abu Dhabi International airport 20km away, and Al Maqta.

The hotel will feature 301 rooms and suites ranging from 32sqm up to 70sqm, and there will be an executive floor with a private lounge facility. There will be two conference spaces for “small to mdeium-size meetings”, and dining choices will include an all-day-dining restaurant serving international cuisine, a lobby lounge and a pool bar.

Other facilities within the complex include an Arabic souk, a spa at the Shangri-La hotel, outdoor swimming pools, a children’s play area; and several international restaurants.
