Mour Hotels has launched its first property with the rebranding of the Dakota Nottingham, and plans to sign up to 12 hotels in the next six months.
The new lifestyle hotel group is aiming to target “influential individuals with higher than average disposable incomes”, and has begun by rebranding the former Dakota Nottingham, located in the Sherwood Business Park around eight miles north east of the city centre.
The Dakota Nottingham went into administration late last year following a shareholder dispute between Formula 1 racing driver David Coulthard and Ken McCulloch, founder of the Malmaison hotel brand.
The 92-room hotel features interiors by award-winning designer Amanda Rosa (McCulloch’s wife), with room sizes averaging 25sqm. Facilities include a fitness room, meeting rooms and a “destination Bar & Grill”. Future Mour Hotels will be between 120 and 150 rooms in size, and feature signature scents and music.
Commenting on the development of the brand chairman Russell Allan said:
“Our current development focus is to take advantage of the current economic climate and the woes of developers to assemble an initial 12-15 strategic sites around London and in the main commercial centres across the UK.”
