Doubletree by Hilton opens in Chester

10 Mar 2009 by Sara Turner

Hoole Hall Country Club and Spa in Chester has reopened under the Doubletree by Hilton brand, after a £27.5 million refurbishment.

The 110-bedroom Doubletree by Hilton Chester is situated just off the M53, a 40-minute drive from both Manchester International airport and Liverpool's John Lennon International airport.

The historic property features a Grade II English Heritage listed conservatory, a 3500 sq ft ballroom and six meeting rooms, plus a business centre offering a full secretarial service and complimentary wifi internet access.

Tony Wright, general manager of the Doubletree by Hilton Chester, said: "With the transformation of an idyllic 18th century manor that represents relaxed sophistication and impeccable design, our team is determined to make this historic new chapter in hospitality at the Doubletree by Hilton Chester successful.”

Bedrooms feature 32-inch LCD TVs, complimentary high-speed internet access and the signature Sweet Dreams bed.

Fine dining restaurant and cocktail bar Orchid Room will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, using seasonal and local produce when possible.

Due to open in Autumn 2009, the spa and fitness centre will have 12 treatment rooms, swimming pools, cardio and resistance equipment and free weights.

Doubletree by Hilton Chester is the fourth Doubletree to open in the UK, after Cambridge, Aberdeen and London (see online news November 19, 2008). This summer the Dunblane Hydro Hotel will also join the brand (see online news May 5, 2008).
