Gulf-based airline Etihad has a great offer. Right now passengers who pay the full economy fare will go business class, while those booking business will be upgraded to first class.
This deal, probably one of the most generous airline offers in recent times, is being offered by Abu Dhabi’s national airline Etihad. It is valid virtually right across Etihad’s network and will be sold in a number of countries around the world.
In the case of the UK it covers flights from London Heathrow and Manchester to Abu Dhabi and the Gulf region, and then beyond to destinations in Asia and as far as Sydney, Australia.
It means that a passenger booking a £1,806 business class return to Abu Dhabi will get upgraded to first class. Alternatively a Mancunian departing for Abu Dhabi from his or her local airport, and paying the full economy price of £1,171, will go business class.
Passengers from London Heathrow wanting to sample first class luxury all the way to Sydney need only pay the business class rate of £3,491.
Etihad’s deal is most suitable for readers who may be travelling on business or combining work and pay. There is no minimum stay restriction and although you must book by February 28 you need not depart until March 31 and return by May 31.
The main restriction is that, once booked, the tickets are non-refundable although changes are possible for a fee.
is in the midst of upgrading its products in both business and first class (see online news January 1, 2009). For
