Bmi is now offering a complimentary chauffeur-drive service for customers travelling on its routes between Heathrow and Moscow, Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah.
The new service which started this month is available to business class passengers travelling on fully-flexible tickets. There is a 50-mile limit to transfers, which must be booked at least 24 hours before departure, and passengers may be accompanied by up to up to two companions or family members and a total of three bags.
Several airlines
including Virgin and Emirates already offer chauffeur services to their premium
customers travelling out of Heathrow, but Bmi is believed to be the first scheduled carrier to
offer it on a short-haul route like Moscow. The decision to offer the service on routes to Saudi Arabia may well have been prompted by BA's announcement that it will restart flights to the kingdom from this May (see online news February 6).
