SriLankan and Korean airlines increase presence in the US

24 Dec 2008 by intern11
SriLankan Airlines has opened a New Jersey office, which will function as the airline’s regional head office for North America.

Trained staff will now handle queries from 0900 to 1700 Eastern Standard Time (EST), instead of the usual automated voice-answering system.

Meanwhile, Korean Air has added seats on its Seoul-Honolulu route as a response to increasing passenger demand. On November 17, a visa waiver that made it easier for Koreans to travel to the US came into effect.

Korean Air will be adding 581 seats and using a Boeing B747, which can seat between 333 and 382 passengers. Previously, the B777 for up to 801 travellers was used.
