Hilton announces Saudi expansion

18 Dec 2008 by Mark Caswell

Hilton has signed an agreement to manage up to 13 Garden Inn properties in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The deal will mark the debut of Hilton’s mid-market, “focused service” brand in the Middle East and Africa region, with the first property due to open in Riyadh in 2009.

Garden Inn brand standards include the Garden Sleep System bed, complimentary high speed internet access, 24-hour business centre and fitness centre.

Hilton says that the GCC (and specifically the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is one of its top ten key development markets internationally. It already operates four properties in Saudi Arabia: three Hilton hotels in Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, and the 46-suite Waldorf Astoria property, ‘Qasr Al Sharq’ in Jeddah.
