Sky City Marriott lands in Hongkong

15 Dec 2008

The choice of accommodation, near the Hongkong International Airport, is enhanced with the 658-room Hongkong SkyCity Marriott soft opening today .

It is Marriott International’s fifth hotel in the city, but first to fall under the Marriott brand.

Located at the edge of Lantau Island and along the South China Sea, the hotel is positioned as a “contemporary oasis” for travellers on business or leisure. Proximity to the Hongkong International Airport has also allowed it to enter the meetings and conferences niche as well as cater for short stays.

“We offer unmatched emphasis on time, an overriding value proposition from the hotel, ensuring that efficiency and ease for guests drives every touchpoint, from the 24-hour business centre and fitness center to Hongkong’s largest executive lounge,” said hotel general manager Robert Jensch.

In a separate venue adjacent to the hotel, the SkyCity Marriott Conference Centre has over 1,300-square-metres of spacious and flexible meeting and banqueting space. There are 10 meeting rooms and boardrooms and 650-square-metre ballroom.

According to Jensch, a private entrance is another feature that sets the tone for bespoke branding activities of any nature.

The hotel also expects to lodge exhibitors attending conferences and tradeshows at the 70,000sqm AsiaWorld Expo, a mere one-minute walk from the hotel via a covered skybridge.

“This presents unique packaging opportunities with world-class shows and room/cocktail packages available to corporate wanting to offer a very different VIP experience to their staff or special clients,” Jensch added.

For recreation, the new hotel has among others Hongkong’s first Quan Spa, while the SkyCity Nine Eagles Executive Golf Course is just next door. Hongkong Disneyland is less than a 20-minute ride away, while the Citygate Outlet Mall and Giant Buddha/Ngong Ping Cable Car attractions are also nearby.
