Thai business events sector upbeat

4 Dec 2008

Thailand’s main agency promoting the business events sector says it is confident that the country will rapidly regain the momentum lost after recent airport closures.

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has welcomed the reopening of Bangkok’s airports and has said: “All MICE venues, hotels, public and private organisations, shopping centres and restaurants are operating normally.”

The bureau said the reopening signalled “a quick return to normality and business as usual in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand”.

Speaking at the EIBTM trade show in Barcelona Sutichai Bunditvorapoom said: “We hope that the business events sector will recover very quickly now that the airports are reopening.”
