Singapore goes all out to woo tourists

18 Nov 2008

Tourism is down but not out. To bring Yuletide cheer amid the global financial meltdown, Singapore is enticing travellers to its shores with a line up of year-end promotions and special events.

Over 30 establishments including the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and the Singapore Flyer have banded together to offer a Kids Holiday Free promotion in a bid to encourage family fun during the festive holidays.

Until January 2, two children aged under 12 can enjoy complimentary rides or admission to participating attractions when accompanied by two paying adults, as well as free kids’ meals.

Also available are free 30-minute open-top bus tours along Orchard Road, where visitors can view the Christmas light display (until January 2) along Singapore’s prime shopping district. Shoppers can revel in the many discounts and promotions offered by malls such as Takashimaya and VivoCity.

For partygoers, the Party For Free package features goodies such as one-for-one drinks and free entry into popular nightclubs like St James Power Station, Thumper and Zouk.
