Luxury hotel brand Mandarin Oriental is to open a hotel and residences in the Arts district of Atlanta.
Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta, is scheduled to open in 2011, and will form part of a 53-storey mixed-use development on “Midtown Mile”, an area of the city emerging as a district for business, shopping, dining and culture (Richard Meier’s High Museum and the yet-to-open Atlanta Symphony Centre are both located here).
There will be 195 guestrooms in the hotel, including 35 suites, as well as 71 residences occupying the top floors of the building.
The complex will be one of the highest buildings in Atlanta once completed, and will feature a “soaring glass facade with panoramic views over the historic Piedmont Park and the surrounding metropolitan areas”.
The hotel will feature four “creative dining and cocktail venues”, as well as a 2,000-sqm spa with treatments rooms, water and heat therapies, a beauty salon and barber, and fitness facilities including Pilates and yoga studios, and an outdoor swimming pool and deck.
