Hongkong Disneyland opens park to corporate events

10 Nov 2008

Hongkong Disneyland flexes its muscles to aggressively target the corporate meetings and events market by introducing “Park Buyout Packages” that enable more companies to hold creative events and teambuilding activities within the theme park.

Previously, the resort mostly offered meetings and events facilities that are located in its two hotels, and had mostly limited the number of corporate events that were held within the park.

“With the highly competitive nature of the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions) industry, Hongkong Disneyland has once again reinforced its leadership position with the launch of its Park Buyout Packages,” said Peter Lowe, vice president of hotel, sports and recreation operations at the resort. “Our clients now have the unprecedented opportunity to hold events in a unique medium, the Hongkong Disneyland theme park itself.”

Companies have the choice of buying-out the entire park or individual theme areas like the Adventureland and Fantasyland where their guests can enjoy outdoor meeting spaces, attractions and rides, and specially designed theme dinners and receptions. Furthermore, companies can arrange for special entertainment such as a private viewing of entertainment offerings inside the park such The Golden Mickeys and the Festival of the Lion King as well as a private viewing of the park’s spectacular fireworks display.

The new Park Buyout Packages are now an integral part of the Hongkong Disneyland MICE offerings. The park’s convention sales and services team can tailor events to help companies create a unique and personalised experience.

“We are confident that through the Disney Difference of creativity, imagination and innovation, the resort will continue to inspire new ideas and concepts in the MICE industry,” Lowe added.
