Central London meetings venue reopens after flooding

7 Nov 2008 by Sara Turner

De Vere Venues has reopened its West One property on Portland Place.

The building was closed for nearly five months after severe flood damage in May this year, which meant the interior had to be entirely refurbished. The property had only been open for a few months, first opening in October 2007.

West One is the fifth De Vere venue in London, where clients can hold meetings, training days and conferences for between 2 and 250 people. It has 24 flexible and multi-sized meeting rooms and 11 computer-based training rooms. All rooms have natural light.

All rooms have free wifi, and wired internet access is available in all the meeting rooms and in the business centre.

The property features De Vere’s signature Steam Bake and Grill restaurant, where delegates can also take part in a team building cook-off, dubbed “Steam bake and thrill”. Throughout the venue there are self-serve refreshment areas, where delegates can help themselves to a range of teas and coffees.
